A Weekend in Champagne from Bouzy

Two or three days of discovery, with Bouzy as the starting point.

Plan your stay

Planning a weekend in Champagne

Champagne suits a break of two or three days. The vineyard is compact, the distances between villages are short, and the champagne houses, many of them family-run, can mostly be visited by appointment. Bouzy, a Grand Cru village at the foot of the Montagne de Reims, is a practical starting point, about ten kilometres from Épernay and twenty from Reims.

L'Iliade bed & breakfast, in the heart of the village, gives you one base for the whole stay. You can spend a day around the Montagne de Reims and its Grand Cru villages, and another towards Épernay and its avenue de Champagne, or towards Reims and its cathedral, depending on what you fancy.

Between visits, Champagne has places to eat and stay at every level, from the fine-dining tables of Reims to village bistros. There are also outdoor activities, such as cycling and walks in the vineyard, for seeing the landscape from somewhere other than a car.

This guide brings together a selection of the Bubbles Guide's active listings, in every category and across the whole area it covers: champagne houses, places to stay, restaurants, heritage sites and museums. Use it to put together an itinerary of your own, with Bouzy as base camp.
